EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING NUTRITION COUNSELING
Nutrition is not just about what to eat, it’s also about the capacity to plan, initiate, prepare, and follow through with nourishment. For many individuals, especially those navigating executive functioning challenges, this process can feel overwhelming, inconsistent, or even inaccessible without the right support.
As a virtual dietitian, Chelsea provides nutrition counseling for ADHD, executive dysfunction, and neurodivergence, helping make nourishment more accessible and sustainable.
At Chelsea Levy Nutrition, we offer specialized nutrition counseling for individuals experiencing executive dysfunction related to ADHD, autism spectrum, neurodivergence, trauma, PTSD, dissociative disorders (including DID spectrum), and other mental health experiences. We support kids, teens, and adults across all stages of life.
How Executive Functioning Challenges Impact Eating:
Difficulty initiating meals or remembering to eat
Feeling paralyzed by decision-making or food choices
Sensory sensitivities impacting food preferences or tolerance
Inconsistent hunger/fullness awareness (interoception differences)
Challenges with planning, grocery shopping, or meal preparation
Cycles of undernourishment followed by overwhelm or disconnection

Our work is grounded in a compassionate, weight-inclusive, and neurodiversity-affirming approach. We recognize that struggles with nourishment are not a personal failure; they are often adaptive responses to lived experiences, brain wiring, and environmental demands.
Together, we focus on:
Building flexible, realistic eating structures that work with your brain—not against it
Reducing overwhelm through simplified systems, routines, and supports
Honoring sensory needs, safe foods, and access considerations
Supporting interoceptive awareness at your own pace
Integrating trauma-informed care that prioritizes safety, autonomy, and choice
Collaborating with your broader care team when helpful (therapists, psychiatrists, a team approach).
For adolescents, we partner closely with caregivers to create supportive environments that reduce pressure and increase consistency around nourishment.
This is not about rigid meal plans or “perfect” eating. It’s about meeting you where you are, building sustainable support systems, and helping nourishment feel more accessible, predictable, and supportive of your overall well-being.
This work often overlaps with healing your relationship with food. You can learn more about intuitive eating nutrition counseling here →
