BODY IMAGE COUNSELING
Your relationship with your body is more than what you see in the mirror, it’s shaped by your thoughts, lived experiences, identity, and the messages you’ve absorbed over time.
For many people, body image can feel unpredictable. Some days may feel more neutral or settled, while other days body thoughts become louder, more critical, or harder to ignore. This is not a personal failure it’s often a reflection of the environments, expectations, and systems we’re navigating.
Chelsea provides virtual body image counseling through a weight-inclusive, fat-positive, and trauma-informed lens, supporting individuals in developing a more compassionate and sustainable relationship with their bodies.
What We Work On Together
Understanding and unpacking internalized body beliefs and stigma
Reducing the intensity of negative or intrusive body thoughts
Exploring how body image impacts mood, eating patterns, and daily life
Building skills for body neutrality, respect, and trust
Reconnecting with your body in ways that feel safer and more supportive
This work is not about forcing body love. It’s about creating a relationship with your body that feels more stable, compassionate, and livable.

Body Dysmorphia Support
When body image distress becomes all-consuming, it may show up as body dysmorphia where appearance concerns take up significant mental space and begin to impact daily functioning.
This can include:
Persistent preoccupation with perceived flaws
Repetitive behaviors such as mirror checking, body checking, grooming, or reassurance seeking
Avoidance of social situations or distress in day-to-day life
You don’t have to navigate this alone. Our work focuses on reducing distress, increasing flexibility, and helping you reclaim time, energy, and attention back from body thoughts.
